At El Rosalejo, if there is one thing we can highlight, it is our history: The Ahumada family has had unforgettable experiences at the Hacienda, which has contributed to the uniqueness of the territory. But it has also been the family gathering place for many generations. Today we can enjoy a magical place together with our visitors. And we are so happy to share it with you.<\/p>\n\n

This ancestral Andalusian farmhouse was built in the 18th century and has been continuously passed on, becoming one of the oldest residences in our country. At present, the person in charge of administering the Hacienda is Javier Chico de Guzm\u00e1n y Gir\u00f3n, who is the VI Duke of Ahumada, the head of the House of Ahumada within the Girones’ entailed estate, the IX Marquis of Las Amarillas and the Master of Ronda. His culinary attention led him to be named a member of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy. The excellence of El Rosalejo’s gastronomy manifests a great affliction towards culinary creations.<\/p>\n\n

The relevance of El Rosalejo dates back to the dawn of the fifteenth century, however, its progress in history is due to moments of great relevance, such as the creation of the Civil Guard Corps. In 1844, the regulations that allowed the subsequent creation of this institution were drafted. After a lapse of more than 175 years, it is an honor to have assigned space and time to a moment of great relevance in the history of Spain. Mr. Javier Chico de Guzm\u00e1n y Gir\u00f3n is at the head of the signing of the Statutes of the Civil Guard, together with Mr. Francisco Javier Gir\u00f3n y Ezpeleta, the II Duke of Ahumada and the V Marquis of Las Amarillas.<\/p>\n\n

One of the elements that most concern our guests is the construction of the El Rosalejo residence. This complex preserves the colonial character of its first building, but integrates historical elements with more contemporary design touches. In the Andalusian farmhouse you can find from arches evoking the Mudejar style to structures inspired by the Alhambra.<\/p>\n\n

During the 19th century, some buildings, including the residence, were demolished and razed to the ground by Napoleonic forces during the War of Independence. In 1830, it was rebuilt and, subsequently, it has undergone remodeling and maintenance work. Since 2000, El Rosalejo has taken the initiative to completely renovate itself.<\/p>\n\n
